VIVERE DA SPORTIVI

VIVERE DA SPORTIVI/BE A GOOD SPORT:  FAIR PLAY IN SCHOOL AND BEYOND is an awareness campaign concerning the ethical values of sports, addressed to Italian high school students and their teachers, and under the patronage of CONI (the Italian Olympic Committee).

The goal of the campaign is to make sport regain its educational function, in order to simmer in the young adults the ethical and social values indispensable for their individual and collective growth, with a focus on:

  •  respect for human dignity

  • respect for opponents

  • collective choices

  •  collective responsibility

  •  non-violence

  •  sustainability

  •  solidarity

  • self-discipline

  • respect for rules

  • determination in reaching goals

  • fighting racism,

  • sport as a means of social integration and peace building

Be a Good Sport promotes the sentiment of loyalty in sport and in everyday life, supporting the ethical values of sport against any form of racism, abuse, or alienation, and encouraging the values of human dignity, non-violence and solidarity between people and nations.

The campaign aims to involve Italian students in a multi-year interactive communication project placing them in the spotlight and stimulating them to reflect and interact with their age group and with public opinion in general. The focal point will be the importance of true sportsmanlike conduct, abandoning the stereotype of disrespect for opponents along with whichever attitude that doesn’t belong to the spirit of loyalty that is the basis of sports philosophy.

It is indeed a civic education campaign, called strongly upon by teachers, that are key to the campaign’s success.
